Recipes for your latex balloons vary depending on the ingredients and what the manufacturer is trying to achieve.  You may have come across latex balloons listed as diamond, crystal, metallic, reflex, satin, and standard.  All these types come in a range of colours, but the look of the overall balloon is quite different between types.

Manufacturers also have different words to describe these different styles.  One brand may use "crystal" while another uses "diamond" to refer to the same style of a translucent balloon (being able to see through the balloon, even if in colour (not clear) latex. Pastel Pink, for instance, will appear very different than Satin Pink (see images).
