Frequently Asked Questions
- Aren't latex balloons already shiny? The balloons we sell are already naturally glossy and beautiful. However, spraying this onto some types of balloons make them even glossier.
- Is it cost effective? You do not need a whole lot to shin your baloons. One short spray and a rub with the clotch glove is all it takes!
- Is it toxic? Balloon Shine and Hi-Shine are not toxic sprays that need to be used in a ventilated area. Read the labels of the bottles when you receive them for any additional information.
- Can I use Hi-Float and a shining spray on the same balloon? You may, especially for balloons that will stay outdoors, but make sure the hi-float dries before adding the spray.

Inflate your balloon as you normally would. Tie it shut and attach your ribbon.

If you are using Hi-Float (a gel injected into a balloon to increase flat time) then ideally you will want to let the Hi-Float dry before adding the Balloon Shine/Hi-Shine. Adding the shine may create a barrier that makes it more difficult for moisture in the Hi-Float to evaporate if you do not wait, which may make the balloon to heavy to float properly.
Follow these simple steps to apply the shine. Also read the instructions on your bottle as well before using.
- Apply half a spray to each side of the balloon. Only push the spray nozzle half way each time.
- Use the cloth glove provided to quickly rub the spray as evenly as you can around the balloon. You don't need to over-rub, the shine will move over the entire balloon.
- Do not overuse the spray. Each balloon only requires a gentle coating.
- The initial spray may appear milky white at first, but will eventually dry clear.
