FAQs

What is Helium?

Helium is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas. It is less dense than air, which enables balloons filled with it to float.

Is Helium safe?

Under normal conditions, helium is non-toxic and has no biological function, existing in trace amounts in human blood. However, excessive inhalation can be hazardous since helium displaces the oxygen required for normal breathing, acting as a simple asphyxiant.

How long will the balloons float for?

  • 11" Qualatex balloons: 10-12 hours
  • 16" Qualatex balloons: 24-30 hours
  • 18" to 42" Microfoil balloons: 3-4 days
  • 15" to 24" Bubble balloons: 2 weeks

*if you’d like to extend the float time for your latex balloons please ask us about the Ultra HiFloat Gel

What is Ultra HiFloat Gel?

Ultra HiFloat Gel is a non-toxic, biodegradable liquid that acts as a barrier inside latex balloons, allowing them to float up to 25 times longer. It does this by slowing the escape of helium through the porous material of the balloon.

What happens to helium balloons in the heat and in the cold

When helium is used to fill foil and latex balloons, they expand and contract with temperature changes. High temperatures can cause balloons to expand and sometimes burst, while cold temperatures can make them shrink. Altitude can also influence how long balloons float. To ensure the best results and maintain their appearance, protect inflated balloons from extreme temperatures, strong winds, and other weather-related conditions.

What is included with the rental?

All short-term helium tank rentals come with a balloon regulator. If you plan to inflate foil balloons, request a dual regulator; otherwise, a standard straight valve will be provided. For any other accessories or specific requests, feel free to contact us.

How long is the rental for?

Helium rentals are available for short-term periods of 3-7 days. Monthly rentals are offered at $9.00 per month, while yearly rentals are available for $90.00 per year.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we provide nationwide delivery for selected helium tank sizes and deliver all sizes locally within the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario. Weekend delivery may be arranged upon request.

How much does it cost?

The cost varies based on the size of the helium tank and the number of balloons needed, which depend on factors like the intended use, required volume, and transportation method. To determine your needs and ensure you're receiving the best value in helium gas, contact us at 1-800-363-4590 or via email. Inquire about our price matching policy, discounts for large event volumes, and support solutions for long-term resale.

Will you match a competitor’s cheaper price?

Yes, we will gladly match any competitor's price if you provide a hard copy of their quoted price.

How many balloons does a tank fill?

We offer tanks in various sizes. Please refer to the charts below to find out which helium tank size suits your needs.

Important Notice!

With 30 years in the industry, we have become the most experienced, knowledgeable, and trusted supplier of helium and helium balloons. Whether you need quick and simple service or long-term support solutions, we can help. Stay alert and cautious against misinformation from other market sources to ensure you are getting the best value for your helium gas. Understanding the units of measurement in a helium tank and how they relate to the number of balloons you can fill will give you a significant advantage over false advertising and deceptive services. For more information, visit the helium resources on our website or contact one of our helium experts.

Warnings!

  • Keep balloons out of children's reach, as they can pose a choking hazard. Adult supervision is necessary. Keep uninflated balloons away from children and discard any broken balloons immediately.
  • Never place the nozzle in your mouth or nose. This action can damage your lungs and other body parts, leading to serious injury or death. Helium cylinders contain compressed helium under pressure.
  • Do not inhale helium. Only use helium in well-ventilated areas, as it displaces oxygen needed for breathing. Inhaling helium can cause serious injury or even death.
  • Never expose helium cylinders to direct heat, fire, or mistreatment. These conditions could cause the cylinder to rupture, resulting in serious injury or death.
